COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WKBN) — The community got a look at rendering for a new inclusive playground coming to Columbiana.
Columbiana Project Playground displayed the renderings and focused on fundraising efforts for Phases 1 and 2 of the project at Birdfish Brewery on Saturday.
The playground will replace and improve Funland at Firestone Park. Funland was put on by community efforts in 1995, and they’re hoping to do that again plus maintain the playground over time.
It was, indeed, a year to celebrate the continuing restoration of Firestone Park. The players were many: Restoration and Beautification Committee, the Columbiana Athletic Booster Club, the Columbiana School District, the Firestone Park Cultural and Custodial Committee, the Park Board, the City of Columbiana, and many contractors and generous citizens.
n 2025 we’re continuing our commitment to help Columbiana Project Playground bring a new, inclusive playground to Columbiana through our Park IPA fundraising project in Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park. Help us bring FUN back to the Funland Playground in our local city park! The Columbiana Project Playground, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is continuing to raise funds to create a new all-inclusive playground in our park that every kid can love. We have committed to partnering with them to help with their fundraising efforts through Park IPA, where we collect $1 per pint poured from our taproom and donate it to local park projects. Through this Park IPA fundraising program and with your help, we have fully funded a 9-hole disc golf course which opened in 2021 and raised over $20,000 for the Columbiana Dog Park which opened in 2023. We are still raising funds for the Skate Park and already have funds allocated for the Columbiana Project Playground. With your help we hope to assist the Columbiana Project Playground with this needed community space. Read more

Eleven regional breweries were included in the event. Paladin Brewing won Best Beer with their Y-Town Blacksmith 5.1% Chocolate Coffee Stout as selected by the Ladies Beer Club Of Youngstown, while Birdfish Brewing Co. of Columbiana was the Fan Favorite (Best Brewery).
